me? a bookworm? you don't say.

I am the epitome of homebody-ness (not that that's a real word or anything). I would rather stay home on a friday night in my jammies with a good book to keep me company than go out and get wasted drunk with my friends.

Don't get me wrong. My friends are awesome.

Especially when they're drunk.

But i would really rather spend my time exercising my brain cells instead of killing them one after the other.

Which brings me to the point of this post.

2010 is a good year for YA books. I am impatiently eagerly awaiting the release of a few sequels and some new book series that got rave reviews from fellow bookworms like me. I can't wait to see what happens next in the lives of my favorite mythical creatures.

Here are my picks according to date of release.

1) Radiant Shadows (Wicked Lovely #4) by Melissa Marr - April 20th, 2010

Hunger for nourishment. Hunger for touch. Hunger to belong.

For this, he's been assigned escorts that include both a dangerous immortal as well as Michael's all-too-human friends. And with that mix of personalities, this is going to be a road trip from hell...

4) Dead in the Family (Sookie Stackhouse #10) by Charlaine Harris - May 4th, 2010 

Sookie Stackhouse has finally settled into a relationship with the Viking vampire Eric, and her errant brother Jason seems to have his life in order, too. But all the other people in Sookie’s life – Eric himself, her former lover Bill, her friend and boss Sam – are having family problems. Eric’s maker shows up with Eric’s ‘brother’ in tow, the ailing Bill can only be healed by a blood sibling, and Sam’s brother’s marriage is about to take place... or will it? 5) Spells (Wings #2) by Aprilynne Pike - May 4th, 2010

6) White Cat (Curse Workers #1) by Holly Black - May 4th, 2010

7) Spirit Bound (Vampire Academy #5) by Richelle Mead - May 18th, 2010

12)  Torment (Fallen #2) by Lauren Kate - September 28th, 2010

13) Crescendo (Hush Hush #2) by Becca Fitzpatrick - November 16th, 2010 

Nora should have known her life was far from perfect. Despite starting a relationship with her guardian angel, Patch (who, title aside, can be described anything but angelic), and surviving an attempt on her life, things are not looking up. Patch is starting to pull away and Nora can't figure out if it's for her best interest or if his interest has shifted to her arch-enemy Marcie Millar. Not to mention that Nora is haunted by images of her father and she becomes obsessed with finding out what really happened to him that night he left for Portland and never came home.

The farther Nora delves into the mystery of her father's death, the more she comes to question if her Nephilim blood line has something to do with it as well as why she seems to be in danger more than the average girl. Since Patch isn't answering her questions and seems to be standing in her way, she has to start finding the answers on her own. Relying too heavily on the fact that she has a guardian angel puts Nora at risk again and again. But can she really count on Patch or is he hiding secrets darker than she can even imagine?

14) Beautiful Darkness (Caster Chronicles #2) by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl - October 10th, 2010
